elsinore

my mama sent me an email today that kindly said, "write on your blog!" okay. so here i am again. now i have about a three minute window because elsinore, the screaming, red-faced, little irishman baby who has taken over eliana's body has once again made her evening, ten o'clock, house invasion. we had five days that were elsinore free. five blissful days. but, alas, he's reared his silly little red head again. jeffy's checking the diaper and re-swaddling. my boob has been head banged and rejected. we've sung songs (lots of showtunes). we've rocked in the chair. we've walked around the house. and, as dad just said, "you are so powerful and so little at the same time." and perhaps it was the garlic that i had at dinner or perhaps she's overstimulated, but we had a quiet day and i tried so very hard not to let her stay up too long...

in other news, jeff's folks morty and roseann have landed in missoula. they are settling into their lovely home up the rattlesnake and are already enamored with their granddaughter (eliana, the perfect who shows herself for them, not always for us). we all had breakfast today and then wandered around downtown a bit. then back at the house elie and her mama had a lovely nap. this afternoon the three of us went to meet elie's new little amiga, hailey paige, leslie and steve's new baby (long live the red tent!) she is beautiful and so little - makes 25 day old elie look positively grown up (even though she still weighs less than all her friends!) so i could go on and on, but i think jeffy is getting tired of shushing elsinore -- it's my time again. he's just so good at the active shushing...i get sort of lazy and head straight for the rocker and boob, but that's not always what she's in the mood for. more later or whenever elsinore let's me have a moment to write without her fantabulous, cacophonous soundtrack in the background.
